X-BITMAP :: An uncompressed black
and white image file format (.xbm).
XHTML :: Extensible Hypertext Markup
Language - A reformulation of HTML 4.0 in XML 1.0. XHTML is a new
language for building web pages that has recently been proposed
as a W3C Recommendation.
XML :: Short for Extensible Markup
Language, a new specification being developed by the W3C World Wide
Web Consortium. XML is a language allowing developers to create
their own markup tags.
All XML tags are defined by the programmer, and can be interpreted
differently in different applications. For example, the ""
tag in HTML means Italics, but could mean anything in XML, depending
on the function the developer assigns to it.
XML (Extensible Markup Language) ::
Like HTML, is an outgrowth of SGML that permits developers to control
and display data in the same way they control text and graphics
today. XML is not a replacement for HTML.
X-PIXELMAP :: An uncompressed color
image file format (.xpm).
